Welcome to today's episode. My name is Sasha Bertagnon, and today we are going to be talking about mindset. I want to explore the theme of mindset and how it's crucial for running a business. Mindset sets you up for success, especially when things get tough. It's essential to understand how to use it to propel your business to success. Mindset helped me elevate my small mobile dog grooming business into London's leading destination for dog grooming, with multiple locations across London.

Let's start with the basics. What is mindset? To me, mindset is your belief in the world and yourself. It influences how you perceive things. You can have a growth mindset or a fixed mindset. A growth mindset helps you move forward, stay positive, and grow. On the other hand, a fixed mindset sees things in a black-and-white manner and believes that you're born a certain way, limiting your potential. But I believe you can transition from a fixed mindset to a growth mindset and become a better person with a more positive outlook.

A growth mindset is essential for running a business. You cannot grow your business without it. It's about waking up every day with determination, ready to overcome whatever challenges come your way. It's not always about showing numbers; internal growth matters too. As a business owner, if you're not growing as a person, your business might not be heading in the right direction. Personal growth is a cornerstone of business growth. This was a major reason why I opened my second dog grooming, dog walking & dog daycare boutique in Belgravia, as I wanted to continue to push myself into this growth mindset. I could have remained financially comfortable with the one dog grooming studio I already had in Fulham, however I knew by taking this risk, I would be proud of myself both professionally and personally.

Your upbringing and the voices you heard as a child can influence your mindset. However, don't let that limit you. You can change your mindset as an adult and grow from it. I had a positive upbringing, and my mother taught me not to be held back by fear. She encouraged me to confront my fears, like when I started horse riding, even though I was initially scared. Overcoming these fears taught me that putting myself in uncomfortable positions can lead to growth.

If you didn't have a supportive upbringing, it's not too late to start putting yourself out there and overcoming your fears. Take responsibility for your life and create the future you want. Your mindset can be trained, and you can choose who to listen to.

Growing up listening to adults around you can set limits on your mindset. But it shouldn't be the end of your journey. You can choose to expand your horizons and change your beliefs. Overcoming your past is possible.

When it comes to business, having a growth mindset is essential. If you're not growing personally, your business might stagnate. It's the little things you do every day that matter. Write down your goals, both for your business and personal growth. These actions are the foundation of your achievements and milestones.

When you're growing a business, there will be times when you're too busy, and the business isn't growing. That's okay; every business has its seasons. It's important to recognise when you need to focus on personal growth or give your business time to stabilise.

Overcoming obstacles is another key aspect of the growth mindset. Obstacles aren't necessarily failures; they're opportunities to learn and grow. Take any chance to learn and overcome these challenges. Don't be afraid to put yourself in uncomfortable situations in the pursuit of growth.

Your circle of friends and family may not always offer the best advice. Evaluate the expertise and experiences of those you turn to for advice. Surround yourself with people who have the knowledge and experience to guide you.

In conclusion, it's never too late to change your mindset. Overcome your obstacles, cut off negativity, and work on yourself. Stay focused, get passionate about what you do, and embrace a growth mindset. Your mindset is the key to achieving your goals and ultimately finding happiness. Thank you for listening, and I look forward to the next episode where we'll explore more topics related to business and dogs.
