Grooming Appointment Terms & Conditions

Le Wag Terms and Conditions

We are looking forward to welcoming your pup into our spa. Before the grooming session we would like to encourage you to read the below points and e-sign at the end to show that you have read and understood the Terms and Conditions.

Booking confirmation

In order to confirm your booking appointment, we require a 30£ deposit per dog per booking to be paid at least 48 hours prior to your appointment. Failing to receive your deposit we reserve the right to cancel your appointment and ask you to reschedule at a future time.

Cancellation policy

Here at Le Wag we understand that sometimes appointments have to be cancelled or rescheduled due to unforeseen circumstances. We kindly ask that you let us know one working day before your appointment for us to reassign the appointment. For example, if you have an appointment on Monday letting us know on Sunday will be too late for us to fill this slot in, so we would require noticed on the Friday prior to your appointment. A 50% charge will be applied for cancellations with less than one working days’ notice. We hope that you understand that as we do not double book our dogs, a no show is a loss to our business. We ask that you please let us know if you need to cancel or reschedule with plenty of time!

Late arrival

If you are running late, please let us know as soon as you can. Late arrivals after 15 minutes may sometimes mean that we are unable to offer the full groom service and can only carry out a ‘wash & go’ depending on your dog’s coat condition in addition to their behaviour. For lateness that is 30 minutes or more we may have to kindly reschedule your appointment or charge an additional fee as your dog’s appointment will run into the next grooming session.

Late collection

We want your dog’s grooming experience at Le Wag to be as comfortable as possible and for them to only be here for as long as they need to be. We don’t crate dogs, so when your dog is ready to be collected, we ask for them to be picked up on time, so they do not become stressed. If you are running late to collect your dog, we ask that you phone the shop and let us know at your earliest convenience. If you are going to be later than half an hour there will be a charge of £10 per half an hour as we will need to allocate a member of staff to stay with your pup.

Matting and shaving of matted area

The most important thing to understand is that at Le Wag, we will always prioritise the welfare of your dog. We will not inflict any excessive stress or discomfort to your dog whilst in our care. Grooming a matted dog/shaving hygiene areas has several risks, please carefully read:

When a dog’s coat is matted or when the hygiene area is shaved a very short clipper blade is used. As a result, the blades must run very close to the skin which may uncover nicks, cuts or other potential problems which have been hidden by the coat.

Effects of clipping procedures includes but is not limited to, the following: itchiness, skin redness or self-inflicted irritations/abrasions from excessive rubbing. In the case of matted dogs please be aware that there is a much higher risk that the dog’s skin could be nicked with the clippers as we have to get the blade underneath the matt in order to remove it. As the owner, we would ask that you agree that Le Wag cannot be held liable for any after-grooming effects of shaving or clipping procedures as well as problems uncovered on a badly matted, neglected coat.

It is our goal to make your pet’s grooming experience as stress free as possible. Sometimes, due to the condition of the coat, we may determine that the only humane thing to do is a shave down. This is a short clip, removing all the matting. It is unfeasible to de-mat/brush out the coat as this would cause excessive pain and suffering.

There is a strong chance that your pet’s skin will become more irritated during the clipping process. We recommend using a medicated shampoo to help soothe any irritation that may occur. Due to the mats being tight against the skin, the only way of removing them is to use a short blade to clip between the skin and mats he/she may be nicked/cut because we must work so closely to the skin. We are very careful, but the possibility of injury is there, and you need to be aware of this.

Aggressive and difficult dogs

At Le Wag, we would appreciate being informed prior to grooming of any previous history of biting or aggression.

We reserve the right to refuse to groom any dog if we believe it may cause injury to itself or any members of staff at our Spa. If a dog exhibits aggression behaviour that will harm the groomer or the dog, the session will be stopped immediately, and the full fee incurred.

If your dog is behaving in a challenging manner and is not excessively stressed, we can manage the groom between several members of staff. If we find this is the situation with your dog we will charge a £15 additional fee to cover for the additional handling help and the longer time it takes to groom your dog to your dog is groomed in the most safe and calm manner possible.

I agree that I have truthfully informed Le Wag if my pet has ever bitten another animal or a human, or if they have any other aggressive tendencies. I agree and understand that I will be held solely responsible for any injury, harm or damage to property caused by my pet.

Senior pets

Occasionally, grooming can expose a hidden medical problem or aggravate a current one. Please make sure you have filled out your pets profile as fully as possible so the service provider is fully aware of any known medical issues before starting the service.

I understand that in the best interests of my pet, the salon/groomer may request immediate veterinary treatments. I am aware that this will be at my expense if emergency services are required.

I understand that senior pets have a greater chance of injury during grooming. I will not hold my selected salon/groomer responsible for an accident or injury to my pet.

Pet Safety

Due to the intimate nature of the grooming process, or a pets tolerance lever for stress, strangers or handling, some pets can become anxious or reactive during the grooming process.

If we determine that continuing the grooming service would present a threat to your dog’s emotional or physical health, and/or the safety of the groomer completing the service, we will discontinue today’s service and contact you immediately. In the event this happens, I understand I will be responsible for any services rendered.

We will take every precaution necessary to complete the grooming service safely and humanely, using appropriate industry safety equipment including; grooming loops, muzzles and restraints. I grant permission to the selected salon/groomer to utilize the correct restraints for the health and safety of my pet and grooming service provider.

Important information before your groom

Please make sure your pup has been to the toilet before visiting us to ensure they’re as comfortable as possible.

A good walk prior to their groom assists in relieving extra energy so when they visit us they are ready for a calming and relaxing grooming session. Relieving penned up energy helps for a better behaved pup and more accurate groom by us.

We always do everything we possibly can to make sure your pet’s time in the salon is as pleasant as possible. Unfortunately, occasionally grooming can expose a previously hidden medical issue, or aggravate a current one. This can happen during or after grooming.

It is possible that an accident could occur during grooming. Upmost care and caution will always be taken, but cuts, scratches, nicks and quicking of nails could occur. Le Wag will not be responsible for any conditions or problems discovered during grooming. Le Wag will not be responsible for accidental death of the pet as a result of any pre-existing health condition.

Collection of your dog

After the initial consultation we will give you an estimated collection time. However, we always ask that you wait for us to give you a call before you proceed over to collect your pup. If you require more than 20 minutes notice, please let us know and we will be sure to inform you when to head over at your requested time.

After the groom

After each session we will inform you of any problems we have encountered, or any suggestions we may have to help your dog’s next groom. When you collect your pup, we will be sure to confirm the groom meets your requirements. This is the perfect time to inform us of any concerns you have in relation to the groom, as sometimes we can rectify on the spot or go a little shorter if an area is looking a little longer than you wish.

The majority of our business is repeat customers, and we wish to maintain our standards and reputation. Please kindly let us know of your feedback when on site with us so we can best learn your grooming preferences and update your dog’s notes on our system. We are committed to you and your dog’s happiness and will do everything possible that you leave us counting the days to come back!

Hold Harmless Agreement

By using our services you agree to hold My Best Friend Dog Grooming its owners, employees and directors harmless from any damage, loss, or claim arising from any condition of the  dog, either known or unknown to us. It is also further understood and agreed the terms of this agreement can change at any time, without notice, and will overwrite any and all prior signed contracts or releases. It is further understood this clause applies to any and all dogs groomed.

Injuries & Emergencies

We use extreme care to groom all pets in a safe, humane and professional manner. However, there is a chance that your dog can sustain an injury whilst on the grooming table, which includes but is not limited to; a nick, cut, mark, or razor burn from the scissors or clippers.

Hygiene/Sanitation area, clean face and clean feet can cause irritation until the dog’s skin becomes accustomed to their short cuts. The client is responsible for any irritation that occurs due to this process.

Although we take the upmost care of your pet whilst it is in my care, accidents can happen. Dogs are liable to sudden movements and we cannot be held responsible should an injury occur.

I will always advise owners of any and all known injuries caused whilst your pet is in our care, but should any be found after collection that were not discussed, we expect you to contact us within 24-hours to report them, discuss amicably and any treatments necessary.

Emergencies: Although it is extremely unlikely, accidents can happen during grooming.

In the event of an emergency we will assist your dog to the best of our ability and we will inform you as soon as first aid is done on your pet.

In the event where we cannot reach you right away we will call our local vet to ask for advice in regards to the incident occurred. If the vet advises us to bring the pet to the clinic we will take the pet Pickles, 899-901 Fulham Rd., London SW6 5HU. The vet fees are not our responsibility and if we are to cover the cost we will ask for a refund of the fees from you to be paid by bank transfer within 5 working days.

If you decide to take your pet to your own vet we are not responsible for any cost or liability on your pet after he leaves our salon.
